The quality of dealcoholized wines has improved hugely in recent years, but is the gap between them and non-dealcoholized wines still far?

By eliminating alcohol the sensation of 15 grams of sugar per litre is missing on the palate. But why then do so many products contain a shameful amount of sugar?

Perhaps because the additions of sugar, flavourings and various additives ‘cover up’ a taste that is not at all attractive?
